The James Bulger Case

This article is about these two 10 year old kids who are skipping school and are bored, so they think up a plan to kidnap a child just to see if they can get away with it. They happen upon a two year old named James Bulger. They grab him and make their way over to train tracks over two miles away. When they arrive there they mutilate the toddlers body, kick him in the head, splatter paint all over him, supposedly sexually fondle him, and supposedly shove batteries into his anus. When the two kids were caught they were asked why they did it and they responded, "we were bored and wanted to see if we could plan and pull off an abduction." I think that the crime these two 10 year old children committed was a crime of opportunity. As it says in the article, the police believe that the two killed the toddler simply because they had not thought out a solution to the kidnapping. When asked about the crime they said that they had done so much to him for no other reason than he kept getting up and trying to leave. These two ten year old boys were sentenced to jail for as the judge said, "a very very long time". Later the 'very very long time' was specified by another judge ti be 15 years or until it was agreed that they had been rehabilitated.
